It started with one ruined winter
Five winters ago my factory mats gave up halfway through January. Slush soaked through to the carpet and the smell never left. The only options were three hundred dollars from the dealer, or generic rubber that slid around like a bar of soap.
So I pulled the floor blueprints the manufacturers use to build the car, and cut a mat from leather that matched mine exactly. Today forty thousand drivers are on the same mats.
